Seven years ago Unison Research presented the very first Unico hybrid integrated amplifier. It soon became known as a groundbreaking modern classic - a true-audiophile product at an affordable price - and deservedly received awards throughout the industry.

The company has now completed the challenge of redesigning and improving upon it, whilst retaining the excellent styling and good all-round performance that made the original so successful.


The Unico Nuovo ('New' in Italian) uses the ECC83 twin-triode valve instead of the ECC82 found in the original. A futher change is to the number of output devices - twice as many as previously used - together with a novel constant power supply arrangement. A new biasing solution has also been employed for better performance.

The result of these radical changes is an improvement to the sound, which breathes more easily in a sweet and natural manner, and at the same time has greater dynamic headroom.
